Bloodstone Rally 2018

Bloodstone were proud to host our sixth rally on the Isle of Wight from Friday the 15th of June to Sunday the 17th of June 2018. A massive 'Thank You!' to all those who participated, every one of you helped make it a success!

Next year

The Bloodstone Rally will return on Fri 21st - Sun 23rd June 2019. 2019 will be our tenth anniversary, so we're going bigger and better with space for a whole 10 teams!

When and Where

Friday, 15th June 2018

  • Teams arrive throughout the afternoon and are welcomed with tea and cakes in the 'hostility tent'.
  • 20:00  Listen to Feck play a mix of Irish folk and Punk in the Smallbrook bar. Drrrrink!

Saturday, 16th June 2018

(Public performances shown in red.)

  • 10:00  Buses leave Smallbrook stadium 10am prompt on a scenic drive to The Needles Landmark attraction.
  • 11:00ish  Arrive at The Needles park.
  • 11:30ish  Dancing in Festival Street in The Needles park.
  • 13:00ish  Morris teams lunch at The Needles restaurant.
  • 14:30ish  More dancing. Don't forget to take time out to experience the chair lift down to Alum bay!
  • 16:00  Buses leave The Needles with morris teams, bound for Smallbrook stadium.
  • 17:00ish  Teams gather at Smallbrook Bloodstone Henge to entertain each other with one dance each.
  • 21:00  Enjoy Wight Hot Pipes playing anything from traditional celtic to rock, live in the stadium bar. Kilts distinctly optional!

Sunday, 17th June 2018

(Public performances shown in red.)

  • 10:30ish  To blow the cobwebs off - teams perform one dance each at Bloodstone Henge before heading off to Ryde. A minibus will be shuttling those that need it.
  • 12:00  Ryde - Dancing at:
      the dry end of the Pier (Tatters & Tails, Guith, Mythago, Wolf's Head & Vixen)
      and Pavillion (Bloodstone, Foxs Morris, Customs & Exiles, Styx of Stroud, and maybe Men of Wight).
  • 13:30ish  One Dance each at the King Lud, then finally a Massed Dance at the dry end of the Pier.
  • 15:30ish  Minibus available to ferry those that need it back to Smallbrook. The tide will be starting to ebb, so a good time for a paddle!

Of course all these timings are based on the famous "Morris Time" and may change at any given moment.
Just make sure that on Saturday your team all get on the buses!

Getting around Smallbrook Stadium Please note that the stadium will not be open to the public, only those with rally wristbands.

Campsite Rules

(Not too many as we want you to have fun!)

  • No personal alcohol allowed in the bar or on the balcony; Real Ale will be available in the bar. (Your own drink elsewhere around the campsite is fine.)
  • Please take your litter away with you.
  • No fires or barbecues.
  • Dogs must be kept on a lead and please ensure that you clear up after them.
  • 5 mph speed limit on site. No racing around the track!
  • No noise before 9am; our squire likes his sleep, bless 'im.
  • Bugger off by 12 noon on Monday.

Food and Shopping in the Ryde area

Excellent cooked breakfasts are made to order in the Smallbrook stadium bar on Saturday & Sunday morning. Please note there will be no burger van this year for other times of the day.
